What is a RRR permit, I hear you ask?

RRR stands for Retirement, Remediation and Relocation.

This is a very cool process in the Cannabis growing industry where you can acquire a permit to grow Cannabis, Retire it (on paper) from where it currently resides, Rehabilitate (Remediate) the existing physical site and Relocate the permit to a suitable location on your farm.

So instead of going through a 3-year process to apply for additional square footage of growing space, you can acquire an existing permit and “drop it” onto your farm.

Our plan to increase the capacity of the new Cannabis farm we are acquiring in Humboldt County, California is a 2 step process.

  • #1 Build out the currently underutilized and already permitted growing space on the farm. The Sellers are only using 8,750 sq.ft. which is 37% of the permitted growing space, so with the application of capital in the form of additional state-of-the-art greenhouses, we can get this farm operating at its current permitted potential, of 23,700 sq. ft.
  • #2 Acquire a RRR permit and “drop it” on our farm adding an additional 20,000 square feet of permitted production. This will almost double the capacity, increasing it from 23,700 sq. ft to 43,700 sq. ft.

Before we went public with this Offering, we had already identified several RRR permits and we are pleased to announce that we now have one under contract.

Ahead of Schedule and Under Budget!

And this RRR permit comes with significant Social and Tax benefits!

#1 Social: This RRR permit is attached to a piece of land in the nearby Indian reservation. Under current approved and practiced laws and procedures, we will be acquiring the land and the RRR, and once we Relocate the RRR permit to our farm, we will be Gifting the land back to the Native Indian Tribe. Returning their land to them.

#2 Taxes: In gifting this property back to the Tribe, we can also get a tax write off for the full value of the land and permit.

So, we get the RRR permit to increase our capacity, the Tribe get the land back and the Cannabis Syndication will receive the tax write off.

And, that’s what we call ….. Economically and Socially Sustainable!

This is a significant step in the road to taking this beautiful yet underperforming “hobby” farm, and turning it into a fully operational, efficient, state of the art ‘” professional” cannabis farm.

The Sellers have operated this farm for 20 years to suit their lifestyle. Choosing to operate only 2 harvests a year and using only 37% of the permitted growing space, they had a very nice life, made plenty of money and had 4 to 5 months off per year.

Not too shabby!

But, now that Cannabis is a fully regulated market, the paperwork, government regulation and compliance is proving to be too much for the traditional black-market farmers. So like many, they are selling rather than go through the extra effort to participate in a regulated market.

With our new approach, adding more greenhouses, more staff and getting more harvests in per year where we can, we don’t need to reinvent the wheel to see a sizable increase in product quantity, price and profit.

And, this is EXACTLY what we have been doing for 5 years in the specialty coffee farming business with our 11 farms in Panama. So, we know a thing or two about it.
