Dear Investor,
The cacao farms for this offering are located in Toledo, Belize, in the southern part of the country. Belize is a Caribbean country located on the northeastern coast of Central America, with a population of an estimated 420,000 people. It is the only Central American country where English is the official language and its economy is based primarily on agriculture.
Cacao farming has been practiced in Belize since 1,500 BC, when the Maya Civilization settled into the area and introduced its practice. Known as the birthplace of cacao, it was a logical place to invest in land for the purpose of cacao farming.
At present, the Sponsors own five cacao farms in Belize, three of which are in full production and two of them recently planted, with a complete team of farmers, agronomists and professionals who have been working in Belize for over four years with the Sponsors. The group currently operates 167 acres of cacao farmland and the farms are managed by hand, on an individual tree basis, by the permanent on-site team of cacao & agriculture experts.
PEINI CACAO has taken traditional cacao farming and added science to the formula in order to produce a more effective and systematic operation. By adding state of the art technology and better farming practices, it has been able to yield better results in production and maintain consistent and high quality control over the process.
